Rome is amazing, in spite of I'm living here since 10 years, it's able to surprise me every day.
Two days ago I was walking in Via di Ripetta in order to arrive at the number 272 to take a superb ice-cream at the gelateria dei Gracchi, but my walk was interrupted by an amazing discover.
Just behind the Ara Pacis, in front of the Mausoleo of Augusto, an old man was upright and in front of him there was an exhibition.
Along the entire wall there were tons of objects full of meaning: an outdoor museum where the main theme is a critic to the actual society, a society that has lost the capability to watch, to hear, to feel and to understand the real values of the life.
At the end of the tour I was so impressed and curious that I arrived close to the man and I started to talk with him
Me: Hi! Are you the author of this?
Him: Yes, am I :)
Me: But you are a completely genius!
Him: Thanks, Where are you from?
Me: I'm from Calabria, but I live here since long time. Are you from here? Do you expone your beautiful art work here all the time?
Him: Yes I'm from here and yes I'm here more or less every afternoon. This is for you.
When I came back to home, I started to make some researches on internet about this man. I found tons of materials: articles on the most important Italian newspapers, interviews with the most important Italian Tv channel (RAI) and also a documentary showed at Cannes 2013.
If you are around the Ara Pacis and you see a man that stay fixed in front of the Mauselo of Augusto, open your eyes and spend a little bit of your time to admire the work of an amazing artist.
